Casino is my favorite mob movie of all time. Sharon Stone was amazing. I remember when I first watched that film being completely transfix waiting to see what the hell she was going to do next.
Actually, every character in that movie was perfect. Right down to that slot manager guy that Ace hated. They all reminded me of someone that I knew in real life.
And yeah, had no idea that it was 3 hours.
That being said, I couldn't stand Godfather. I don't know why but I just can't sit through that movie. Everyone likes it but me :-(
Sorry, I don't want to spam your comment box but I can't believe you like Rosanne. There was a 3 month period where I was laid up and I watched a ton of Rosanne late at night on cable. It really was a good show and for some stupid reason people that should like that show (i.e. people with that kind of humor) somehow don't.
There were a lot of good quotes that I use in every day life too. Of course no one knows that I'm quoting Rosanne.
Oh and I heard her stand-up on satellite radio and it was pretty funny. It was only a 15 minute clip though so for all I know she's usually pretty lame.
I've been having a hard time with stand-up lately anyways. It's like I laugh once and then for the rest of the 59 minutes I'm just rolling my eyes at how edgy most comedians try to be.
A good example is Bob Saget. Terrible and not funny.
@HolidayTrees - Casino REALLY doesn't get the due it deserves. I think because it was another Joe Pesci/DeNiro movie people just lumped it in as Goodfellas part 2, but it really is a better movie in my opinion. Glad someone else agrees!
As for Roseanne, that show was on such an unbelievable roll for a few seasons. Then they won the lottery...ugh. Just ugh.
As for spaming my comment section...*Looks around* No one else is using it! Spam away!
You're very much right about recent Stand Up comedy. People simply try to shock and offend as bluntly as possible without having any humor or insight in the material.
I hate most comedians nowadays, but I like Eddie Izzard and Doug Stanhope a lot. Doug Stanhope especially is very shocking and offensive, but the difference is that he's funny as all heck (though he might be a bit grating at first, I wasn't too into him at first, but as I watched him, I liked him more and more).
Thanks so much for listening!
